You will notice on some of our products a note about the use of non-organic white rice flour as an ingredient. We are temporarily using this flour in the following products: Simply White Rice Bread, Boiled Wholegrain Bread, Cinnamon and Sweet Sultana Bread, Toasting BAPs and Pizza Bases. All other ingredients as stated on the labels remain unchanged.
Sourcing of a consistent supply of organic white rice flour has been very difficult. We are currently working with suppliers who have leads from all over the world - Cambodia, China, America, Thailand and Pakistan. We have secured a shipment from China although this has been delayed for a few weeks which has left us with a shortfall.
There is another challenge that we face under these circumstances and that is getting the right variety of rice (flour) for our bread to maintain quality and reduce staling.
Organic white rice flour will be available in the second week in April and if trial bakes are successful we will be on track with 100% organic soon after. Otherwise you will be kept informed through this web site and on the relevant packs.
Please be aware that at all times we are working maintain ingredient flow so as to minimise the impact on the final product.
