Dear Bread Lovers

Thank you for visiting our website. Sorry we have not been in touch for a while. There is always so much going on we really should let you know.

Many of you must have been eating the gluten free buns and pizzas at burger fuel and hell as we are seeing good interest for these products. I like to think these options are useful to you.

Recently we have been struggling a little with rice flour supply which has created some exciting challenges within the walls of Venerdi. The problem has been that some of the large players on the international rice scene have been closing their boarders to exporting rice. You will have seen some empty supermarket shelves a few months ago. These challenges are continuing but there is an up side to them -we have been encouraged to learn more about our ingredients and to refine the art of baking so were not too upset about the hassle.

This leads me to say – I have learnt a lot about gluten free baking and we have managed to do a lot of things, but were not sure exactly what you’re after next. I have put together some simple questions to help us to help you get what you want on to the shelves. If you have some thoughts and would like to give us some ideas please click here.

Also on this note please look out for our boiled grain loaf – I have revised the grains in the recipe by adding amarynth and chia while removing the brown rice grain but retaining brown rice flour. The crumb is a bit lighter and I feel the taste and texture have improved considerably. When it comes to improvements we feel it is an ongoing task and we do need your help.

Furthermore if you have any gluten free baking questions regarding your own attempts to make gluten free products then I’d be happy to try and answer them or give you some advice. Please just go to drop us a line and send us an email.

Our bread packaging has also been throwing a few spanners in the works. We have been struggling with the back creasing due to the film shrinking and also with some holes forming causing mold to develop before the bb date. We have been trialing different films and film make ups to avoid these problems and we seem to be getting to the bottom of it.

As always though if you do have some product that is unopened and moldy before the best before date then let us know and we’ll sort you out with a replacement.

Thanks again for taking an interest talk soon.
